نسرین نوش، دختر شاه سقلاب، روز سه شنبه در گنبد سرخ و پوشیده در جامه ی سرخ رنگ نقل میکند:
پادشاهی دختری بسیار زیباروی داشت که چون آوازه ی زیباییش به گوش همگان رسید، برای تصاحب وی بوسیله ی زور و زر تلاش میکردند. دختر از پدرش خواست که بالای کوه، حصاری بسازد تا او درون حصار زندگی و علم اندوزی کند. همچنین دختر در راه حصار، طلسم های متفاوتی میگذارد. تندیس هایی طلسم شده، که هر کس را به غیر از نگهبانان دژ به دو نیم میکردند. همچنین درِ حصار را نیز کسی نمیتوانست بیابد.
دختر پس از مدتی، روی حریری طرحی از پیکر خود کشیده و زیر آن مینویسد هر کس که خواستار من است، باید به حصار دست یابد و چهار شرط را باید رعایت کند: شرط اول این زناشویی، نیکنامی و نیکوئی است ؛ شرط دوم این است که از روی عقل و خرد طلسم ها را باطل کند؛ سومین شرط این است که از درِ حصار وارد شود نه از سرِ بام؛ و چهارمین و آخرین شرط این است که به شهر بازگردد تا دختر نزد پدرش برگردد و از او سؤالهایی بپرسد که اگر جواب داد، دختر از آن وی خواهد شد.
آن حریر را به خواسته ی دختر بر سردر شهر آویزان کردند. بعد از نصب آن، جوانان بسیاری جان خود را در این راه از دست دادند. عاقبت جوانی خردمند و دلیر برای این کار به جستجوی خردمندی فرزانه رفت که در غاری زندگی میکرد و به او خرد بسیار آموخت.
جوان باز میگردد، لباس سرخ رنگ می پوشد و اعلام میکند که به خونخواهی آن صد هزار سر میرود. به کوه رفته و طلسم ها را از بین میبرد. چون به حصار رسید، دُهُلی را سخت کوفت و به گرد حصار گشت، و جایی را که صدا بر می آمد را کند، راه ورود به درون حصار همانجا بود. دختر پیغام فرستاد که به شهر برگردد و منتظرش بماند. جوان به شهر بازگشت؛ حریر را کند و سر کسانی که جان خود را از دست داده بودند را از بالای حصار پایین آورد و دستور داد با تن هایشان خاک کنند. مردم همه سوگند خوردند که اگر شاه این پیوند را نخواهد، او را به زیر آورده و جوان را به شاهی بر میگزینند.
دختر به شهر آمد و شاه از جوان پذیرایی کرد. در آزمون دختر، او نخست دو مروارید از گوشش در آورد و به نزد جوان فرستاد. جوان سه گوهر دیگر هم وزن و عم عیار گوهرهای نخست به آن اضافه کرد و بازپس فرستاد. دختر هر پنج مروارید را سایید و شکر به آنها افزود و نزد جوان فرستاد. جوان آن را در جامی شیر ریخت و باز فرستاد. دختر شیر را خورد و آنچه مانده بود وزن کرد، درست به اندازه بود. انگشتری را از دست در آورد و فرستاد. جوان آن را در انگشت کرد و جای آن، گوهری به نزد دختر فرستاد. دختر، دُرّ دیگری هم اندازه و هم شکل آن برداشت و آن ها را در رشته ای کشید و بازگرداند. جوان مهره ای کبود خواست و بر آنها بست.
دختر به پدرش گفت که بساط عروسی را برپا کند. پدرش شرح معانی آنچه گذشته بود را خواست و دختر چنین شرح داد که:
آن دو مروارید، یعنی دو روزه ی عمر را دریاب. اوجواب داد که اگر پنج روز هم باشد به همان سرعت میگذرد، ساییدن و با شکر آمیختن یعنی این عمر شهوت آلود مانند دُرّ و شکر مخلوط است، او که آنها را در شیر حل کرد گفت شکری که با دُر آمیخته شود با قطره ای شیر از میان برخیزد، دختر با فرستادن انگشتر رضایت خویش را به نکاح اعلام کرد و جوان با فرستادن آن گوهر گفت که گوهر وی جفتی ندارد، با به رشته در آوردن آن دو گوهر همانند خود را جفت او دانسته و جوان مهره ی کبود را به خاطر چشم بد در آن بست.
شاه بساط عروسی را فراهم آورد، از آن پس جوان چون با سرخی جامه ی خود از سیاهی رسته بود، جامه ی سرخ را برگزید.

A king had a very beautiful daughter and when her fame of beauty was known by all, they struggled to take possession of her bye means of gold and force. The girl asked her father to build a block house on top of a mountain so that she could live and study in it. Besides, the girl puts defferent spells in its way. Charmed statues spilt in to two halves anyone except the guardians of the block house. No one could find the door of the block house also.
After a while the girl draws a picture of her body on a piece of silk and writes under it that anyone who wants me should reach the block house and should obey four terms: the firs term of this marriage is goodname and beneficence, the second term is that he counteracts the spells out of wisdom, the third term is that he should enter from the door of the block house not from its roof, and the forth term is that he should return to the city so that the girl can go to her father and ask him some questions that if he answers, the girl will be his.
That piece of silk was hung upon the enterance gate of the city as the girl liked. After its fixing, many young men lost their lives in this way. Finally a wise and brav young man went to search a wise sage, for the same purpose, who lived in a cave and he taught him many things.
The young man returns, wears red and announces that he is going to take the revenge of those a hundres thousand heads.
He goes to the mountain and counteracts the spells. When he reached the block house, he beat a kettle drum strongly and went round the block house and dug where the sound emerged, the entrance was there.
The girl sent a message that he should return to the city and wait for her. The young man returned to the city, took down the silk and the heads and ordered to bury them with their bodies.
All people vowed that if the king did not allow this marriage to take place, they would dethorne him and choose the young man as their king.
The girl came to the city and the king received him. In the girl’s test, she first took off two pearls from her ears and sent them to him, the young man added to them three more of the same weight and returned them to her. The girl ground all five pearls and added some sugar and sent them to him, he poured them in a cup of milk and sent them back, the girl drank the milk and weighed the remnants, it was exactly the ame weight. She took of a ring from her finger and sent it, he wore it and sent a gem instead. The girl took another gem of the same size and shape, and threaded them and sent back, the young man asked for an azure bead and added it to them.
The girl told his father to set up the bridal party. Her father asked the meaning of what had gone by and the girl explained that:
Those two pearls means seize the day ( all life seems as short as two days). He answered that it would pass as quickly if it were even five days. Grinding and mixing uo with sugar means this lustful life is like a mixture of gem and sugar, he who dissolved them in milk told that sugar which is mixed with gem disappeares with a drop of milk, sending the ring, she approves of marriage and sending that gem the young man told that her essence is unique. Stringing those two identical gem, she knew herself his mate and the young man added the azure bead to prevent the influence of an envious eye.
The king provided the means of marriage, from that time the young man who had been saved of darkness with the redness of his clothes, chose red raiment.
